Looking Glass Rock Looking Glass Rock is a Pluton that shines from the reflected sunlight. It was formed when an upwelling of molten rock was trapped and cooled underground and later was exposed as the covering ground eroded away. For the best view, pull into the overlook at Milepost 417 along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
